Invenergy’s First Washington Solar Center to Power Local Grid

Quincy Solar will deliver 120 MW of clean power to Grant County
MOSES LAKE, Wash. and PORTLAND, OR. (April 15, 2025) – Invenergy, the largest privately held developer, owner, and operator of clean energy solutions, has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Grant County Public Utility District (Grant PUD). Beginning in 2027, 120 megawatts (MW) of clean, reliable, cost-effective power generated by the Quincy Solar Energy Center will connect directly to the local grid, energizing the equivalent of over 25,000 Washington homes per year.
Located near Moses Lake, Washington, Quincy Solar will support Grant PUD’s goal of securing 300 MW of solar power generation by 2027. Over the life of the project, Quincy Solar will contribute over $27 million to the local economy through local taxes, land costs and lease payments.
"As our county’s energy needs grow, our PPA with Invenergy’s Quincy Solar is another significant resource to meet local power demand,” said John Mertlich, Grant PUD CEO and General Manager. “We look forward to working with Invenergy to provide affordable renewable energy to the grid and our customers.”
“We are excited to partner with the Grant PUD to advance their generation goals and help meet local energy needs with homegrown solar power,” said Laura Miner, Senior Vice President, Renewable Development at Invenergy. “We look forward to continuing to work with landowners, local officials, and the broader community to bring the benefits of Quincy Solar to Grant County residents.”
The Quincy Solar Energy Center is expected to begin construction in late 2025 and reach commercial operations by November 2027. The project will support up to 200 jobs during construction and approximately two full-time operations and maintenance positions. Quincy Solar will be Invenergy’s first solar facility to reach commercial operations in Washington. This brings Invenergy’s total energy generation capacity in the state to 860 MW.
